Pakistan’s situation will have bearing on India: Mukherjee

LAHORE: The deteriorating security situation in Pakistan will have a “bearing” on India, the country’s Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Thursday. According to a report in the Indian Express, Mukherjee also “appeared to draw Pakistan’s attention to the danger of terrorism recoiling on it”, saying “no state should accept the policy of sponsoring terrorism or encouraging terrorism or indulging in terrorism”. “Pakistan is a close neighbour of India. Therefore, what happens in Pakistan has a bearing (on India),” the paper quoted him as saying. “If terrorism is bad to India, it is equally bad to Pakistan. If terrorism inflict injuries to India, it inflicts injuries to Pakistan also,” the Indian minister said. daily times monitor
